The Bible as protection against deception: warnings, truth & wisdom
God’s written safeguard for his church against false teachers and the deception potential of dark spirits is the Bible. Satan tries everything to keep people away from the Holy Scriptures, because their clear statements expose his lies.
The last great deception: Antichrist and miracles
Soon the last great deception will unfold: the amazing miracles of the Antichrist. The imitation will be so similar to the real thing that only one instrument will be able to reveal the difference: the Bible. Its truths are the measure of all things – the litmus test for every claim and every miracle.
Warnings and the mark of the beast
God sends warnings, symbolically through holy angels. These are to be taken seriously by everyone. The judgments against the worship of the beast and his image motivate us to study the prophecies thoroughly – especially in order to understand and avoid the mark of the beast.
Satan draws attention away from God
Satan wants to prevent people from searching the Scriptures for themselves. Instead, he wants them to be blindly led by bishops, pastors or theologians, which makes it easier for him to control the masses.
Warning against abuse of power by leaders
Christ prophetically recognized that the abuse of power by scribes and Pharisees over other people’s consciences would remain a curse for Christianity. His criticism was recorded in the Bible as a warning for future generations. God’s truth and honor belong inseparably together.
The duty of every believer
You cannot honor God with false beliefs. We must learn from the Bible what truth is, live by it and invite others. We should search the Scriptures daily, consider statements, compare texts and find our own point of view, because we have to give an account.
Prayer while reading the Bible
The Bible should never be opened without prayer. Only the Holy Spirit can help us to understand difficult statements and protect us from distortion. Angels prepare our hearts to be receptive so that we can grasp God’s words, take their warnings seriously and be motivated by their promises.
The urgency of the time
We are living in the most important time in world history. The fate of the masses depends on how we act now. Every follower of Christ should ask themselves, “What is your will, Lord? What do you want me to do?”
Wisdom and fruitfulness in life
The wise man is like a tree by the water that stretches out its roots to the stream. Even in the heat he is not afraid; his leaves remain green. And even in a dry year he bears fruit without ceasing (Jeremiah 17, verses 7-8).
