Richard Elofer was born in Casablanca, Morocco, into a Jewish family. He was raised in the Jewish faith and was proud of his heritage. His family emigrated to France, where he accepted Jesus as the Messiah at the age of 19 and became a member of the Adventist Church in Paris. After studying at the preacher's seminary in Collonges, he worked as a preacher in France for 17 years. He was then head of the Adventist Church in Israel for 15 years. During this time, he was called to work part-time at the Adventist-Jewish Friendship Center, a Global Mission center that promotes the establishment of Jewish-Adventist churches. Since 2012, Richard Elofer has been working full-time as the director of this center in France. In the same year, he received his doctorate in Intercultural Studies from Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, California.
