The seven seals

In Revelation 5, John is transported to heaven in a vision and sees the heavenly throne room. There, God sits on the throne, surrounded by many holy beings, and He holds a sealed scroll in His hand. This scroll has seven seals.
John realizes that there is no one present who can open this book. John begins to weep. He weeps because there is no one there to open the book, not even God himself. Then one of the elders comes to him and says, “Don’t weep. Here is someone – a lamb that was slain – because of you, because of all of you – and this lamb has the authority to open this scroll.
Only Jesus Christ, He alone was authorized to open this book with the seven seals.

What does that tell us? There is something in this book that concerns Him. He is the main character. And where was Jesus the protagonist? In the cosmic battle, in the great battle for you and me. In the plan of redemption. We call it “the eternal gospel“.
